How Can a Itchy Bump On The Chest and Wrist Pain Be Treated?

I pulled a small brown tick of my chest last September. The spot where the tick bit me is still there and itches but has not gotten bigger. Also I noticed joint pain especially in my hands wrists and elbows a short time after the bite. could this be a tick related illness or do tick bites take a longtime to heal? could the joint pain be related? Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The wrist pain is not related to itchy bumps. It might be due to an allergic reaction secondary to an insect bite.

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
